And it just keeps getting better...

I can't believe it. I am feelin' the blog love this week. Darlene from Darlene's Days just told me I won her giveaway! Woo hoooooo! I can't wait to get my book. It's beautiful! Thank you, Darlene!

And I'm having a giveaway away hosted by Kimba at A Soft Place to Land. You will need to have a DIY project ready to link, but she is very flexible when it comes to what DIY means...like, a recipe is DIY, right?

The giveaway is for $25 to spend in my Etsy shop! Woo hoo! Get on over there and link up to be entered!

Okay, 30 minutes...

Yesterday it was Nester's, today it's Kimba's.

My insides are squealing, even if I'm not writing in all caps.

Yipp. EEEEEEE. Sorry. The caps slipped out.

My 15 minutes...

You all know The Nester. Who in the blog world doesn't? Well, okay, not everyone, but in the circles that we all run in in blogland everyone knows who she is.

Not only is she a window mistreater extraordinaire, but she has made beautiful tassels. I say "has" made because she's giving it up for the time being.

Why in the world would I be mentioning all of this? Well, who do you think she sold her zillion spools of ribbon and her bazillion yards of fringe and gazillion toppers to? That would be...

ME!!!!

Remember this pic?

It's a delivery notice letting me know I had four boxes to pick up. I was like a kid at Christmas. Sooo much pretty stuff. I have once again burned my fingers beyond recognition (okay, maybe not quite that much) getting ready for Christmas.

Here are some of my latest ones, some of which you may have seen already if you have visited my Etsy shop.

I have to say this is my favorite one:

I. LOVE. THIS. TASSEL. I have gone back and forth and back and forth on whether or not to list it on Etsy. See, the fringes that I used were remnants and I don't have any more just like them. So this Snowman and Snowbaby Tassel is a one of a kind. I can make one similar (oh, you can bet on it!), but this one is the only one like it that I'll do. See why I think it's so special? Well, even though I do adore it, you can have it for your own just in time for Christmas decorating (oh, who am I kidding...y'all have probably had Christmas decorations out since the day after Halloween!).

"Run, run, as fast as you can; you can't catch me, I'm a gorgeous tassel!"

Yes, this is part of my description of this yummy tassel on Etsy. I couldn't help it. Hey...sniff, sniff...I smell cookeez! Sorry...Nacho Libre quote...my sense of humor is so imbecilic!

Red finial tassel looks so pretty in red with its matching red and white ribbons. And those feathers. I do love the feather. How could I not? It rhymes with Heather!

Speaking of feathers, I loooove this Weathered Feathered Reindeer Tassel. He's worn just enough to be interesting. And the feathers...well, they're just pretty.

Speaking of Reindeer....

Oooh. Laaah. Laaaaaaaah. I loved folding all that ribbon...it was like playing with a taffeta gown. Sooooo Pretty.

Not only did Nester sell me her stuff, but she's also featuring me on her blog today. Can you believe I just wrote that without using all caps? My fingers are twitching from the effort not to. I am beyond excited.

Now, if you see a tassel that you love, you'd better grab it because with the exposure at Nesting Place I'm hoping my tassels will be selling like hotcakes. Or something like that. Anyway, I want you to have first dibs, so you better get on over there!

Then, as if you already don't read enough about these tassels, head over to Nesting Place and read some more!

My Husband Still Rocks!

Even though I haven't posted a My Husband Rocks! post in a looooong time (Sound Man keeps reminding me...hee hee), I haven't forgotten about it. Nor have I forgotten how much he rocks!

Right now, as I'm typing he is drilling holes for tassels for me . At 11:00 p.m. Amidst his getting ready for a big weekend, too. But he puts aside his preparations for me, because he loves me. He knows how important these tassels are to me, even to the point of not going to bed earlier because he promised me he would get them done.

This is an old picture with Kiddo helping, but I had to put it on here...it's the only one I have of him at the drill press. Wish I had some more of those roosters....

Anyway, my point is, he rocks because he cares about Butterfly Genes Tassels as much as I do. He encourages me so much even when I don't have a sale for over a month. He drops what he is doing (okay, maybe finishes what he is doing LOL) to help me get ready for a big push (more about that in a few days...I know y'all are ready to bail on me because I haven't told you already).

But do you know the thing that makes him rock the most? He tells me constantly how proud of me he is. Aside from acts of service my love language is words of affirmation. And my husband affirms me. Every day.

Thank you, my Sweet, for always telling me and showing me how much you love me.

In Which I Beat the Proverbial Dead Horse

I miss you. I miss blogging. I miss designing my blog, coming up with witty titles (okay, so they're not always witty, but work with me here), filtering every life experience through bloggy eyes ("This would SO make a great post!"). I miss blogging.

Fact is, I'm just too dang busy. It's self imposed, because to look at my house you'd never know I'm too busy. I have three loads of laundry at this present time that need to be put up. A kitchen that looks like a tornado has recently blown through. No makeup on my face. Tassels that wait to be made. Oh, the tassels that wait to be made.

Yet, I spend my day on the dumbputer. I'm on Etsy, Facebook, Etsy, Facebook, Et...well, you get the picture. Granted, a lot of what I do is to promote business. But a LOT of what I do is a complete waste of time. Like Farmville. And Bejeweled Blitz 2. I mean. WASTE OF TIME!!!!

I so need to compartmentalize my day. When I was working, I knew what was expected of me and by when. I had pretty much a self imposed structured day based on the expectations of my boss. So, why is it that now that I'M the boss I don't impose those structures on myself? Because I don't have to answer to anyone. Okay, well, I do have to answer to my husband, but he lets me off the hook far more than he should.

Hmm...I wonder if they rent bosses? I could hire someone to boss me around! Yeah, that way they could give me goals for the day and sack me if I didn't do them! Wait, that wouldn't work because I can't get sacked from my own house. Oh, well. It sounded good.

I need to figure out a way to impose rewards and negative consequences for my household and business. "Business" being a loose term.

So...any ideas?

Now that I've thrown that out at you, let me invite you to my brand new Butterfly Genes fan page on Facebook! Woot woot! If you are on Facebook, just click the link over to the left (just under my Etsy ad) sign in to Facebook, and click the "Become a fan" button. I'd love for you to come see me!

Soon (as in the next couple of days) I will let the cat out of the bag about what I teased you with last week. I'm working on tassels and pictures and communication and all that jazz. Rest assured, I WILL tell you. It's just too big not to tell you.

The excitement builds....

Or, you know. Whatever.

Anticipation....

I'm waiting...on something big. HUGE.

It took me a while to decide to do it. It was quite the commitment. But in the end, all the parties involved were happy.

Oh, I can't wait to tell you about it. But I will wait...

One of the things came Friday. I just got a notice that a few more are waiting for me to pick up. But even before those three others came, I couldn't help but play with the first....
