My Husband Rocks! Friday

I know, I know, I skipped last week. Before you all think I'm a terrible wife, let me say that I had permission from my husband (un-asked-for permission at that) because my day was extremely hectic and I just couldn't get to it. I think I've been in a blog slump anyway. But not today! I'm back at it with my Sweet Husband's tribute post. If you'd like to be a part of Katy Lin's "My Husband Rocks! Fridays," head on over there and sign up. You can grab this cool button, too!

Today my husband rocks because he's not afraid to get in there and do some decorating himself. He asked me the other day if I would post about something he did. I told him "Well, of course!"

He had an old, beat up frame in which he had put a picture of moi. I kind of liked the "beat -upped-ness" of it, but he wanted to make it look better. So, unbeknownst to me, he grabs the frame and heads outside with one of my cans of spray paint. He came back in chuckling. This is when he asked me if I'd post something he did. He told me that he had spray painted the frame black, and intended for it to stay black, until he dropped in the sawdust. Grumbling, he tried to get all the sawdust off, realizing then that he kind of liked the look he was creating after wiping all that stuff off. He liked it so much he kept it, and put my picture back in.

So, that's the end of today's post...what? Oh, you wanted to see the finished product? But that would mean I'd have to show you my picture and I just don't know if I want to do that....oh, alright... Please forgive the glare in the middle. I really don't have a large white glob on my chin. At least I don't think I do. But notice the way the brown of the old frame comes through the new black paint? I think it looks really cool, and especially on the $.25 thrift store metal rack it's sitting on.

So, my Sweet Husband, you rock because you're not scared of getting a little spray paint (and sawdust!) on you to make something better! Thank you for your encouragement to make our home more beautiful!

He does it all!
And I am laughing at your good eye. That was the same Sunday that I came home to wrestle the GOAT!! I just didn't add that hours before I was singing in front of thousands of people...hee hee.
Our website deletes our worship videos after 6 weeks, but I want to save them for my family out of town, so I thought here was a good place. They only mix it for our use to critique. I wish they could mix it like it's heard in the sanctuary but they can't...too much work just for a typical Sunday.
The second one is with our praise choir/jazz guys....you'd like that one. And of course, I'll have to hear about sing to the king.
Off to do school...ugh! Woke up late - not good.

I love the idea of this series! And did you know there are tshirts out there that express this sentiment. My husband and I both have them: "my husband rocks" and "my wife rocks". They're from frommetees.com (I think that's the address...let me know if it's not and I'll get it to you).
