Sigh...Moms get it too...

So, I guess I assumed when I had a baby that moms never contract illnesses their children had. I never remember my mother catching what we had, yet she was in with us every time we were sick. I still want my Momma with me when I have a stomach bug. Just something so comforting about her holding my hair back and wiping my face with a wet rag. I hope my son feels the same way about me when he grows up.

Thankfully, we have not had the stomach thing, but Lord knows we've been sick. Yes. I said "we". I now have the galloping crud as my Momma used to say. I felt so awful yesterday that I had to call Sound Man home from work so he could drive me to the doctor, and I felt like I could have passed out several times on the way there. Come to find out, my blood pressure was really low. Why, I have no idea. I just know I felt H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E.

It's not the flu, as both Kiddo and I have been swabbed and found flu-free. But it is one bad virus. I haven't felt this bad since I DID have the flu two years ago. I feel a bit better today, but I'm still running a bit of fever. And it's one no cowbell is gonna cure. (Kudos if you can tell me what that's from!)

By the way, Kiddo did NOT get to participate in the Awana Olympics. He was so upset. But it made both his daddy and me realize that he is maturing just a bit. He was so concerned about the team that he was begging for us to let him go. He kept saying, "The team needs me! The team needs me!" It's really the first time he has had a team player mindset. Sigh....I hate the little guy didn't get to go, but I am glad we got to see this side of him.

Awwww I hate that your son couldn't participate but sometimes that just happens. Sorry you now have the crud and all I can say is I hope it passes quickly.

I had the stomach virus last Saturday and spent the whole day by myself throwing up and sleeping and hoping that my parents, Alan or Lexi didn't end up with it. I felt alright by Sunday (when Sunday night I got to eat the Mexican Lasagna that was fixed on Saturday) and thankfully no one else caught whatever I had.

Man sorry to hear you are so sick. I wonder what made your pressure so low. It is amazing how kids can surprise us. They grow up so fast. I wonder if mine are "getting it" and then they do an unselfish thing and it is like WOW they do "get it".. Hope you are better soon...MISSY

I hope you are back to your old self (well not OLD self, but you know) soon. I have no idea about the cowbell.

Here's to hoping you fell back to your old self soon. The sickies have been all around us, but have not hit us as of yet.
And, what an awesome little man you are raising. His team was not the same without him, I'm sure.
And, I'm married to a drummer, how can I NOT get the cowbell reference. Will Ferrel is so wrong in so many ways, but by golly, he makes me laugh. :)
