My Husband Rocks! Friday!

Man, the days fly by, don't they? This is my 8th edition of My Husband Rocks! Well, if you want to be technical, my 9th, but that one had to be abbreviated until the next day because I had peeps coming over. Thanks to Katy Lin, I have thought more deeply about why I love my husband. You'd think I'd be tired of talking about him. Not a chance.

He is my hero. No kidding. As a homeschooling mom, some days are just rotten. I have to be honest with you, some days I want to quit. Wednesday was one of those days. A terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day if I've ever seen one. I didn't want to call my husband because I knew he was sick of my whining about how Kiddo detested Math. So when he called, what did I do? Whined to him about how Kiddo detested Math. But that's putting it just mildly.

No, he didn't like hearing we were having issues. But beyond that, he came up with solutions. He's good at that. And calming me down when I need it most. Sometimes he does it in a way that I know he means business and to continue on in my whiney, hormonal emotional, irrational way would be a mistake. More often than not, though, he is able to calm me down with sweet, encouraging words that let me know (even though I don't believe it most of the time) that I'm a good teacher, a good mom, and a good wife, and not to give up. Giving up is the last thing I want to do for his sake, as well as my son's.

Thank you, my Sweet, for your encouragement this week. You mean the world to me.

That's great! Sometimes my husband has to do the same for me. And it's usually a problem with math. LOL

I try to do the same thing at my house. When I'm having a bad day, I try not to dump it all on Husband when he calls...the operative word being "try". He has enough stress at work to deal with every day. Did I tell you I'm going back (after 20+ years) to finish my degree? My classes start on the 26th. So not only will I be a stay-home mom, but I'll be a student...a college sophomore...woohoo! I should be graduating the same time as the youngest. Then I can start looking after someone else's kids as an elementary school teacher. I want to be one of those teachers who is not cynical and "just there for the paycheck," but is truly there to inspire, lead, and direct children down the right path. Keep me in your prayers. I now have to learn how to balance "house"work with "home"work...heehee. Love you much...

It is so nice to have a husband that listens and offers support and suggestions. Your hubby sounds so wonderful, you just need to give him a big ole hug and kiss.

This weekend, forget all about Wednesday. Enjoy your family and then sing to the Lord.

I love great husbands.

Hey--thanks for stopping by "my" place today. I am loving yours. And I am loving that your husband rocks, and you're not afraid to tell the world. So, in that vein...

My husband rocks, too! I love him. He lives out Joshua 24:15 on a daily basis, even when I act more like Martha than Mary. I love him for this...

That is sweet - and so considerate of him to let you rant and rave for a bit, then begin to encourage you after you've 'vented' for a bit. He sounds very wise.

In answer to your questions on my blog, I think that the Aussies came out near the end of the Opening Ceremony parade cause of the Chinese alphabet (so I've been told).

Also, the flag they were carrying is a mascot flag that first appeared (on a world sporting stage) at the 2000 Sydney games. That flag is an icon in Aus and particularly in the game of cricket. I don't think that many people would want to change the national flag to that though - if we ever became a republic - well, no one that I know anyway. It's just a special flag (mascot) for sporting events mostly I think.

Sometimes I think that you know more about Aus than I do... :) It's great though - I love the questions!

What a great guy, being able to come up with solutions is such a great place to be!

I don't know about your, but this group has made me appreciate my marriage more. Not only am I'm noticing all of the little things Paul does, but as he does read my blog I'm getting a lot more "thank you" and "I really appreciate" and random "I love you" comments. :-)
